The solo violin connects the works in this all-JS Bach programme for which rising baroque star Théotime Langlois de Swarte joins period ensemble Arcangelo. Four major names in early opera join them for two of Bach’s church cantatas – one full of despair, the other, hope.

Ravishingly expressive accounts from curtain-up to lights-down

Performances so special that I feel a changed man from listening
